HOW I AM HELPING THEM FORWARD
These are three ways I am helping the Chavara Special School:
1) Raising money through Tutoring:
So I have been blessed to be academically gifted and it is one of the viable ways for me to raise money for the special needs children of Chavara. So I started a tutoring service by the same name, Help Them Forward, where I have reached out to students in schools with lower academic rating (based on GreatSchools.org) to help students there get ahead in academics. I currently tutor 10 kids in middle school at a Starbucks near their school. I charge a minimal amount ($10/hour) and have told the parents in advance that all income from the tutoring goes to this cause. I want them to know that they are helping too!
2) Raising money through fundraisers:
I started a GoFundMe fundraiser (https://www.gofundme.com/project-help-them-forward) so others who care, like you, can help me in raising money for this cause. I am also planning some other fundraisers throughout the year to help raise the funds, stay tuned!
3) Help at the source:
During my Christmas and Summer School breaks, over the next few years and through College, I plan to visit India and work at the Chavara Special School and donate my time and efforts to help them in whatever way I can. It’s good for the soul and also a good way to see a beautiful part of India as well!
